Anyway. Here’s what happend. I was auctioning “WTB Thurg BP MQ” And I got a tell from a girl called Dadani, saying her RL friend was selling one. I asked how much he wanted, and she said bout 50k. I offered 55k. She said she was gonna call him and ask if that was cool. He said sure. I was told that his roomate was gonna log his char on for him, cuz he was at work…

I hooked up with Sanornik in Thurg. Here’s the log. Read it for yerself

Okay, I’m here to speak my piece and say I’m sorry.

-I had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this scam. Yes, I saw him auctioning to buy a BP, and yes I knew someone who had it. I also DID call him. He was stuck at work and had me call his house to check with his roommate. His roomy said he’d do it, no prob, and had to call Chris (the real player of the character) to get his login, etc. What happened after that, I have NO idea.

-I am a perfectly LEGIT and HONEST gamer. I have never screwed anyone out of anything in EQ, nor will I ever. I don’t know what the hell he was thinking, but I’ll do my very best to find out. Not only that, but I will also be on the phone as soon as is reasonable (don’t want to wake him up as I already checked and neither of you are online) to tell him what has happened.

-He’s a gentleman, and an honest person, and I really don’t wanna see his name ruined over the actions of the half-wit he shares an apartment with.

-I’m hoping that this was some kind of stupid frat-joke and you’ll be able to get your cash back ASAP.

-If there’s anything else I can do to help, let me know.

-Again, I have ZERO to do with this. The only thing I’m guilty of is trying to help you and Sanornik out. I’ve learned my lesson, and I’m not ever gonna touch this kind of deal again.

If they decide to talk to the whole neighborhood about how you set up a deal that got them ripped off, I can guarantee that no one in the neighborhood will do any kind of business with you.

-You can keep doing the indignant thing all you like, but when it comes down to it as I said already, until he gets his money or BP back YOU are part of the scam. You worked the deal.

Think I would talk to VI and let them see what accounts were involved and where the money was transferred too. If they can track an item then tracking plat shouldn’t be too damn hard.

-Dadani and Sanornik are on my trade scammer list until I hear that compensation has been made to Skul. Dadani’s story is so unbeleivable it makes the little brother excuse look perfectly plausible by comparison. If a roommate of mine trade scammed someone using my account, (I cannot see that happening as I have never lived with a theiving dickhead) I would have MQ’ed the BP (presumably Sanornik still has the BP) and then beat the fucking plat or some RL cash out of my soon to be FORMER roommate. How the fuck someone can use the excuse, “my roommate did it and that is beyond my control” blows me away. What the fuck kind of cowardly response is that. I know my reputation is ruined but I am to much of a pussy to confront the theif that did the damage.

-If Dadani really wanted to start clearing her name she would name the alleged shitstain that caused these problems in the first place. Since it seems unlikely that person exists (not impossible, just unlikely), I doubt a name will be forthcoming.

-Oh yeah, I always hated the sucker as well. Strikes me as poor form to spit in somoenes face when they are down.

I like to think about these things logically. So there are only 2 options here. Dadani is telling the truth or lying.

1. Dadani is telling the truth. She admitted to knowing the owner of the bp in real life. She phoned this person, and has access to this person and the roommate if she felt like it, and can apply real life pressure to get this resolved. Not doing so is associating YOURSELF with the scam, Dadani.

2. Dadani is lying. She set up and commited the scam. She has the loot and can repay the plat or perform the mq.

In either situation Dadani can get this resolved, so if Suk doesn’t get his mq or money, you, Dadani, are a scammer.

All Hail, Morsereg the Fool!

-This is gonna be long, so sit back, relax, and get comfy. This is my full side of the story, exactly as I was *told* it happened by Dadani.

-She saw someone auctioning for a Thurg bp MQ, and knew that Sanornik had one he was trying to sell. Sanornik is a friend of hers who I’ve met I think twice, and had apparently taken a bit more than a year away from EQ. So she calls him on his cell phone to let him know, and he’s stuck at work. He has her call his roommate to do the MQ, and the roommate agrees and says he needs to call Chris for the password.

-Flash to in-game. I didn’t know any of this had happened, do a /who all friends, and see Sanornik online. Send him a tell saying what’s up, he says doing an MQ, and say cool I’ll head to GD and we’ll hook up. He was in NFP at the bank, I had just been dropped off in WC to hook up with some friends, so I meet up with him in EC and get a port (from Sharkee who went LD on arrival to GD). (on a side note here: Sharkee is owed 100pp for that port, which Sanornik offered to pay to get a ride fast to get the MQ.)

-Sanornik heads to Thurg while I wait at rings for Sharkee, who didn’t actually drop from group from LD for several minutes. When I get to Thurg, I do a quick bio break, come back and see Danun screaming “FUCK YOU SANORNIK”.

-Obviously I wanted to know what had happened, so I started talking to Danun, while not letting on that I knew Sanornik (prolly a bad idea from the get-go… hindsight is 20/20). He tells me he got scammed, I told him a guildy of mine got scammed for a chain tunic bp recently, etc… I then offered to MQ a set of gaunts I had in bank for free since I felt bad for him, and they were just sitting in the bank at the time… have been for a month. He has em, so no MQ. Still no mention of Dadani at this point. Flash forward about 45 minutes or so..

-He asks me what I think he should do, and I tell him to log to EQLIVE.com and do the contact a GM thing and explain the situation. Also told him to /petition Sanornik.

-give or take. Melissa (a.k.a. Dadani) calls me frantic cuz she read the rant boards and saw her name. She’s freaking out on the phone, asks if she can come over. I say of course. While she’s on the way to my place, I log and read the rant…. doens’t sound to me like anything she’d do… not in a million years. So I wait for her to get here.

-She gets here, re-reads the rant, and wants to reply. I tell her to go ahead (mistake on my part… obviously I didn’t know IP addresses could be checked here. I don’t frequent the rant boards often at all… just when I need a good laugh). So she replies, etc…. you know the story up to that point. The flames and speculation begin.

-The whole time this is going on, I’m wondering if my account is in jeopardy after I read that VI can check the trade logs, etc because I had exchanged cash with her that night. I often give her items to sell, since she has 2 comps running nearly non-stop, and my 2nd computer has a crappy connection and drops alot.

-Wake up today, check the boards, see all the crap going on, and give her a call. She tells me Chris doesn’t have the cash or the BP on his character, and had beaten the shit outta his roommate and said “fuck eq and everyone who plays it”. He apparently has no intention of playing again, and therefore won’t be refunding squat to Sukliz. The whole time I’m wondering who the roommate’s main is, knowing that if we get that info at least HE can deal with the bullshit and not me and her anymore… yet she can’t seem to find out the character name, etc…

-So she asks me to help her out, and I offer to. As I said, I had no reason not to trust her up until this point. So I log in my mule, check cash and items, and send a tell to Danun. He logs to Sukliz and meets up with my mule in the bazaar at my request. I give him 15k out of pocket. Tell him I don’t want my name brought into this. As we’re chatting, I call Dadani to tell her that he seems to be ok with it as long as he gets his money back. I ask her to log and give me cash for him, and she says she’s “taking a break”. So I lie through my teeth to Sukliz and tell him she logged an alt to give me cash for him, when in fact I’m paying him more outta MY pocket, still thinking that she’s innocent in all of this, and I’m helping a friend who got into a bad situation. The whole reason I didn’t tell him it was coming outta my pocket was because of shit like the post above talking about the items I’m looking to purchase. A friend of mine broke down several old characters of his and gave me items to sell. So YES I had a crapload of money. These posts were made WELL before all this shit happened, so check the dates and BACK OFF. I’m not a scam artist. PERIOD. Provided I can get his permission, I will even post the name of the character’s who’s equipment I was given to sell to get the items I want…. OR I’ll list his main so you can ask him yourself. I have nothing to hide from anyone.

-Flash to this evening. Still haven’t heard anything from Dadani, and an officer in my guild is asking me questions about this rant. I answer his questions, and he tells me I need to clear this up, or he’ll do what is necessary to protect the guild. I tell him I understand and agree, and will settle it immediately.

-So I call. No answer. I call no answer. I call, leave a message on the machine telling her I got an email from VI about our transactions, and she picks up right away.

-So I start ramming her with questions. Who what when where why, etc… She tells me she fucked up. As if I didn’t know this.

-Then she tells me she fucked up BAD… that scamming ppl seemed so easy, and that she’s sorry she got me involved.

-WONDERFUL. I’m the fool here. Not only is my name, and the name of my guild (which is more concern to me than my own name) being dragged through the mud, but I’m out 50k of MY CASH and she’s not gonna play anymore.

-Well a big old FUCK YOU DADANI from yours truly.

-Believe what you will. I have spoken my piece, and told my story. I’m not a scammer, nor am I a dishonorable person. My guildmates know it, my friends know it, and most everyone I have grouped with more than just a couple times knows it.

-Sukliz is still owed 5k, which will come from my pocket once again.

-First, I met Morsereq about 8 years ago. He ran in the same loose circle of friends that I did at the time. A year or two later he moved out of state.

-The only contact I have had with him since has been in EQ. I have no idea who is RL friends are where he currently lives (ergo no clue if Dadani is real or fictional).

-He’s always been a nice guy generally speaking and I am not saying that he did or did not do this. However his story is fishier then hell and I don’t care for him invoking mine and Mastrloo’s name as some sort of shield for his reputation. Mastrloo has been a close RL friend of mine for over 10 years and I wouldn’t hesitate to call him a dumbass if he acted like a dumbass. As a matter of fact, I’ll call him a dumbass here just on credit for the next time he acts like a dumbass

-It was my mistake that got all this started. Yes I’ve known Morse in RL for quite a while. We had been trading and selling items through each other’s characters for while. I never thought about trying to scam him because he’s a sweetheart, and when he says he’s an honorable man, I back him up on that.

-Then when he kind of walked in on the situation once it was in motion, I still didn’t think too much about his involvement, because he didn’t know that the Sanornik character and I were the same person, so I figured no harm would come of it.

-I apologize publicly. First to Scott (Morsereg) who held a special place in my heart. Then to Sukliz, who deserves the apology regardless of whether or not he has been paid back.

-I will be calling it quits for EQ, at least for awhile. Maybe permanently. I haven’t decided that yet. For the time being, I will try to set things as right as I can.

-Morse, I’ll meet up with you at some point and pay you back the cash you fronted to try to defend me. I’m a worthless friend, and I wish I had never had this stupid idea. I hope someday you’ll take to calling me “Darlin” again, and find it in your heart to forgive me for being so childish and immature as to do something like this. I hope we can be friends again.

This is the story as I see it, correct me if I’m wrong Dandani/Sanornik/Morsereg.

Morsereg ports into GD to meet up with Sanornik. Why? To get the 55k of course. He ports in just as Sanornik goes LD. He sees Sukliz shouting about being scammed. He then begins to tell him a tale about people he knows getting scammed, and offers to MQ gaunts with him. Why? To help ease the loss of his 55k (and probably to stop him from shouting). He then tells him to petition the GM’s. My guess there is Dandani/Sanornik are on a different account from Morsereg, probably one given to him, maybe even under a different name. Then he reads the rant boards, he sees people posting about how the 55k can be tracked. Well he realizes he fucked up, he didn’t know the GM’s could do that!!!!!! He then contacts Sukliz in a last ditch effort to save his account. I mean, if he loses it, all of his scams would be for nothing, right? He begs Sukliz to not mention his name, even though Sukliz messes up and posts his name, and makes a deal for him to drop it if he pays him. The biggest mistake he made was the post under the EZ board name he created as “Dandani”. He never thought to be careful to make the speech appear to be different. There’s nothing left to do but to await the GM’s decision on your account(s).

It’s really sad that you tried to make yourself look like a hero by first offering to MQ the gaunts and then giving him the money “your friend” stole from him.

Oh and please stop your “Dandani” posting bullshit, we all know it’s you, fool!

I am not convinced that Dadani and Moreseg are the same person.

-Good friends develop their own dialect, so to speak, in typing. I know I picked up on certain typing techniques after joining LoH a long time ago. People who e-mail me and I have a sort of slang we use. It doesn’t surprise me that Dadani and Moreseg have similarities in typing. These similarities do not make them the same person.

-If Moreseg KNEW that Sanornik ripped off Suliz, it makes no sense that he would place himself right there at the scene of the crime. Sanornik would have to lay low for a while, perhaps a day or so, before Moreseg could safely get his loot. With all alleged planning that went into this scam, it is unlikely that he would overlook this rather obvious detail.

-The fact that Dadani’s initial IP address and Moreseg’s were identical could mean that they are the same person. It could also mean that Moreseg was telling the truth: Dadani posted from his computer.

-Moreseg has had a clean record to this date. He is a member of a well respected guild. (Or was). He has a reputation to protect. He has no reason to jeopardize his reputation with a scam.

-So what if Dadani and Moreseg bid on the same item in the Bazaar section of Brell.net? If they are indeed one person, why would that one person make make multiple posts? To confuse the seller and queer the sale?

-Moreseg has a lot of nice loot. So what? A lot of people do. People who buy and trade in a perfectly honest manner acquire nice things.

-There MAY be enought to indict Moreseg — MAYBE. But to convict? Sorry. No. Seems to me that there has been less of Dick Fuckin Tracey here than there has been of good ol’ fashoined Joe Fuckin McCarthy.

-In all of this, I’ve been questioning everything I said and did, and gettin very paranoid. But it wasnt until I started seeing the bashes and flames after I posted as Dadani that I truly LAUGHED MY ASS OFF AT MYSELF!!!!

-So here’s the full, unabridged, truth behind it all.

-I lied. I lied bigtime. However, I did NOT scam anyone.

-How did I have plat to buy those items you ask? It’s simple, I paid real cash for some of it, and sold items in game for the rest. I have a very serious illness, and haven’t been well for many years, so awhile back I decided that I was gonna buy the items I wanted so I could enjoy the game when I played. There are many days when I can’t sit up for more than an hour or so at a time, which left me no option of spending countless hours raiding and rolling versus other players to try and win the items I wanted. So if one wasn’t for sale, I’d buy the plat I needed to buy it in game. Case closed.

-Now, on to the Dadani situation. Dadani = Morsereg’s second account. She was just a lvl 1 mule I created to sit in the bazaar and sell shit while I played or slept. While auctioning several nights ago, I saw Danun (Sukliz) looking for a thurg bp MQ, and knew someone who had it (Sanornik… who’s real name is Melissa, and who’s main’s name is Awelyian). She’s a RL (former) friend of mine who I had indeed traded and sold stuff through many times before. So I gave her a call and told her I had a buyer for her bp MQ. She logged on shortly after and needed a lift from FP, so I met up with her, as I was already sitting in WC. Dadani had been logged off, by the way, because the computer I was running her on is a Celeron 450 with a PoS graphics card, and had been running for nearly 3 days straight. It was beggin me for rest. So Sanornik and I headed to GD. Sharkee went LD during zone, and I waited awhile before he was actually dropped while San went ahead to GD to finalize the MQ.

-I zoned into GD and went afk for awhile to walk the pup, bio, etc… and when I came back Danun was screaming FUCK YOU SANORNIK. I totally fucking panicked, knowing something really bad had just happened, and talked to him so I could find out exactly what my supposed friend had done. I offered to MQ the gaunts I had in the bank because I truly felt sorry for him. I have never scammed anyone, nor will I ever scam anyone.

-I told him to /petition and go to EQ’s site to contact a GM as well. Then I called the bitch. She pretty much told me to piss off if I didn’t like it, so we exchanged explicatives and hung up the phone.

-Then I awaited The Rant. In all honesty, I can’t say that I expected to see Dadani’s name brought up. Call me naive. I hadn’t done anything wrong… I just set him up with someone who I had done countless trades with, and exchanged some large amounts of plat with. I never thought she’d sink to this kinda bullshit. When I saw my mule’s name mentioned, I was pissed off and frantic at the same time… NOT because I had anything to do with the scam, but because I had exchanged a substantial amount of cash with Awelyian in the bazaar that night, and figured if VI finally did something about a scammer, they’d see the trade logs and ban my account as well.

-So I decided to post as Dadani, and not Morse, because I didnt want Primal Honor being brought into this whole scheme. They are the best bunch of people I’ve met on Brell, and I’d do nothing to knowingly hurt them.

-After several failed attempts to talk Melissa into coming clean, I decided that since I was now dragged into this shit that I’d pay him back on my own. Again, I felt really bad that he had been taken. So I talked to him the next day and paid him 15k out of my pocket. I then logged in my other comp, got 40k (I think) from my other mule, and paid him that as well. I had already lost a “friend” in this, and had no desire to end up with a banned account or a reputation as a scammer, and people were already saying Dadani = Sanornik here on the boards.

Then I see that Sukliz had missed my name a couple times when he posted his logs, and thought “now I’m fucked”.

-So I continued to weave a web of bullshit, trying to save face for Primal Honor first, and Morsereg second. Then I see that Relbeek had matched up the IPs. I honestly didn’t know this could be done. Seriously, I dont spend much time on these boards at all…. in all this crap, THAT much was true.

-Well, if she’s a RL friend, why couldnt she have posted from my house? Right?

-It pretty much spiraled from here, including me going to a friend’s house to post the reply from Dadani claiming Morse’s innocence. I was still clinging to the hope that I could get outta the trench I had dug for myself.

-Then shortly before I logged for the night tonight, I saw the post from Miriamele, and goddamned if I’ll let that two-timing skank say shit about me being a scammer.

-”I’ll show her!”, I exclaimed.

-So I typed out my reply and clicked the ever so innocent looking “Add Reply”.

-Refresh the main screen, and see last comment from Dadani of Brell, and nearly piss myself laughing. No sense trying to get outta this one… that’s the comp I had posted the original reply from Dadani on, and it hadn’t been turned off since.

-So I fruitlessly post another reply as Morse, thinking “what the hell? I’m bagged now… one more for good measure!”

-And so the story ends. TA-DA!

FYI: about 10 minutes or so after I posted as Dadani and signed it as Morse, I got an email from an officer of my former guild asking me to log on asap. I knew it was coming, so I of course logged on. Three officers and I met up in GD, and they told me they regret to have to do it, but….. so I asked to at least be able to /guildremove myself. This whole thing is humiliating enough as it is. Kind of a “let me be the one to jump from the gallows instead of gettin pushed” request. They were kind, and let me do the deed.

-Through this whole fucking mess, Primal Honor was lied to as well by me, thinking that I could get out of it with little or no damage. For that, I eternally apologize. “You lost your honor the moment you lied,” Sufflox told me this evening. And he’s 100% correct.

-Had I come clean initially and just said “GO GET HER!!! There’s your culprit!” I suspect this rant would have been no more than 2 pages long. Instead I was trying to beat Awelyian at a game that she’s obviously much better at than I am.

-Sukliz, I apoligize that you got scammed. I tell you once and for all that I had nothing to do with it. Ask any person who’s known me in game for awhile, and they’ll tell you I’m a good man with who treats others with kindness.

-To my peers, I can only say that I fucked up by not telling the truth from the beginning. The 55k that was paid back to Sukliz did indeed come from my account, and Awelyian hung me out to dry. I was trying to do what I thought best at the time.

-Primal Honor, I apologize to you the most. I disgraced myself, and only hope that my admittal of guilt for lying through this is enough to clear the guild’s name. I hope to earn back my reputation and one day join your ranks once more. You folks are my family on EQ, and made playing fun again. You also helped me through some rough times recently regarding my health, and I am forever greatful and indebted to you all.

-So ends my post, and hopefully this will clear up all the discrepencies that were apparent in the stories that were told.

-For those of you who still think I am a scammer. Go fuck yerselves. Plain and simple. It’s bad enough I got nailed in this bunch of lies, but I won’t tolerate being branded as something I’m not. Call me a liar, and I must concede to you at this point, call me a scammer, and I’ll just ignore you.

-I know I’ve never scammed anyone, and coming clean with the rest of this lifts a burden off my back that leaves me feeling good enough about myself to not let your petty accusations bother me.

-I’ll still be around Norrath I suspect, playing as I always have, and earning back my reputation. It’s Awelyian that worries me. She’ll probably pay her $50 for a name change and be done with it. I won’t do that. There’s no honor in hiding.
