The MMORPG game and the MMORPG world

In 1993 while playing Aber Bud using my Procomm Plus DOS program which connects me to a Unix Internet Server which also connects to this beautiful MUD game, I had a big dream. I was thinking how great it would be if this was turned into something graphical. Five years later and my dream came true. EverQuest while based on Diku MUD was still what I was asking for.

MMORPG Missing Content

Why do recent MMORPGs, which are based on a much bigger budget than older MMORPGs, end up with less content? If you have played EverQuest, WoW then Aion/Rift you can create a pattern here. MMORPGs tend to offer less content than the previous one which offered less content than the one before. Let me make a comparison between EverQuest when it first started (no expansions) and Aion or even Rift.

I just can’t do this anymore

I simply cannot do the solo-quest grind in any game anymore. I’m burned out completely, I want to reach the end game I really want to but the solo-grind is blocking the way. Take Aion for instance I REALLY want to try the new dungeons that starts at level 50 but I have 3 characters stuck at level 40-48 and I can’t stand the solo-grind effort required to reach level 50. I have no problems hitting level 50 if I was given enough group-oriented content but what we have at level 40-47 is SR only! I’ve done SR too many times my eyes start bleeding if I see it again.
